Our Oxford shoes have all of the features of the much-loved traditional design, while keeping your comfort in mind. The style is made from quality calf leather with a Goodyear welted construction for a breathable and long-lasting finish. Inside, we've added flexible leather insoles to put a spring in your step and EVA foam filler to mould to your feet. There's also a half-leather insock, which provides extra support with each step.

I wanted a very smart pair of Oxford shoes for work. Looking at previous reviews I decided to pay the extra for the higher quality offering at £229. The pair I tried on on store and the photographs online proudly display "Made in England". The shoes I received however clearly state "Made in India". They look fantastic and very well made but they are really uncomfortable - different from the display pair I tried on in store. The nails that hold the heel in place stick slightly proud underneath the shoe making a tapping a noise while walking and have scratched my wooden flooring at home. I have a marble floor at work and the nails sticking out the shoe make them dangerous to walk in as there is zero grip and like walking on ice. Overall I'm really dissatisfied with the shoes and I'm unlikely to wear them again.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback, although we are sorry for your dissatisfaction with the Luxury Oxford Shoes. Having reviewed the online photography and descriptions there is no mention of the Country of Origin or indication that they are made so we are unsure where you had seen this term, and would be grateful if you could specify this? We are so sorry, however for the poor construction that has led to the nails holding in the heel protruding from the heel, causing scratches on your floor and the lack of grip on the marble flooring at work. This is not the standard of quality that we expect and we have arranged a QR code to return these to our Warehouse for a full refund and so that we can inspect these defects and ensure feedback is shared with our manufacturers and buying, so that we can learn from these errors and provide a better standard in future. We are so sorry to have let you down in the meanwhile, and hope to hear from you soon so that we can understand your concerns about the origin you had seen.

Thanks for the swift response. As for the country of origin, the shoes I tried on in store very clearly said "Made in England" in gold lettering on the insole of the shoe. When I purchased online, your website pictures also displayed this, as still do some pictures from 3rd party sellers online. I suspect that production has only very recently moved overseas and I was unlucky enough to get a pair of shoes from a new batch? Please do check the history on this and also the display shoes you have in your stores - I'm not imaging it. My previous pair have been exceptionally comfortable and absolutely faultless. They're looking tired now but that's completely due to their age and how often I've worn them. If you have any old stock English made shoes of the same design I'd gladly purchase these from you.

Thanks for your patience. You are indeed correct in that our manufacturer since then has changed and they are now made in India. Our store team have rectified the errors in store to ensure this is reflected and the correct shoes are now on display. I'm afraid that we do not have any more of these older stock units as these have since been recycled or destroyed though I have fed back to the Product Team that a difference has been noticed between the two manufacturers and to have that gap addressed and closed.
