The wood smells great, and the mechanisms work smoothly considering there isn’t any oil applied.
One of my pairs had a splinter and a small hole from a knot, but for the discounted price it’s hard to complain (though I might not have been so pleased had I paid full price).
My only other request would be for an intermediate size option - my shoes are all UK 8.5 or 9, and I’m not sure if the shoe trees are able to apply the same pressure as they would to size 7 shoes. But I didn’t want to buy the larger size in case they didn’t fit.
