When accounting for the waist measurement, this is not taken from one end of the belt to the other, as it seems as though you may believe. On a traditional leather belt with notches, it is taken from the middle notch (usually the third of five). A belt such as the Casual Stretch Belt - Navy is slightly different as it doesn't have notches, although the principle is the same. The overall length of the belt will be longer, with the waist size taken from a point around 20cm from the end. If the belt were cut to the exact length required for the waist, it would have no way to do up.
