Our Big Tyrwhitt Milestones

Charles Tyrwhitt is the ultimate love letter to our founder Nick's obsession with dressing well. We've looked back at the moments that shaped us and made Tyrwhitt what it is today.

Nick starts Charles Tyrwhitt from his room at Bristol University. 8 shirts and 8 ties on a one-page leaflet.

We think brass collar stiffeners are essential for a flawless shirt, so we include them for free.

We hit £1M in sales. We do help men look and feel like a million bucks, after all!

Nick starts to feel a little lonely, so we hire our first employee. No point rushing!

Quite honestly, we go through some hard times, and the business folds. But not for long...

Our first store opens on London’s iconic Jermyn Street. Nick’s dream really becomes a reality.

What is this thing called the Internet? We’re not quite sure, but we join the online club and launch our website.

Welcome to Madison Avenue, New York – our first US store.
