We turned to Pontoglio Mill, in Italy, to weave this fabric. The mill has been in the family for five generations, creating luxury fabrics like this 100%-cotton velvet with its soft, brushed feel. A delicately smart silhouette adds to the formality of the look and the details, like the quality buttons on the working cuff and single-breasted fastening, speak to the quality. Last, but by no means least, the inside is lined with exclusive Tyrwhitt lapwing-design fabric.

Jacket was as described. But I paid £7.95 for next day delivery. The jacket arrived three days after the date it was paid for. Very disappointing

It's deeply disappointing to see that your purchase arrived later than expected, so we certainly share your feelings in this regard and can only apologise that you were left without your beautiful Navy Italian Velvet Jacket for the event you had planned. Unfortunately, this will have been due to our normal carrier being unable to deliver in your area, and so an alternative (DPD) was used. With the order being placed quite late in the evening, it was too late, sadly, for the parcel to leave us until the next day. We have refunded your delivery costs on the order, of course, and hope that you will still get plenty of enjoyment from such a lovely garment.
